CSE 4317 - Schedule, Deliverables, and Deadlines
All deliverables must be submitted via Blackboard. No scans of handwritten documents are allowed.
Deliverables submitted late will be penalized, at a rate of 10% of the maximum score per hour. The submission time will be the time shown on Blackboard. Any assignment submitted more than 10 hours late will receive no credit. Exceptions will only be made for documented emergencies, in strict adherence to UTA policy. Computer/network crashes are NOT an acceptable excuse for late submissions (if worried, submit early, you can always revise your submission till the deadline).
Deliverable 1 (group):
Due at 11:00am on Wednesday, 01/16/2013.
Create an 8-minute presentation about risks in your project, which risks you have already resolved, which risks remain, and what you plan to do to resolve those risks. Submit the presentation file on Blackboard before class on Wednesday, in addition to presenting in class.
Deliverable 2 (individual):
Due at 11:55pm on Thursday, 01/17/2013.
Create a 3-minute presentation about lessons learned in the previous semester, things that went well or badly at the individual, group, and class level. Submit the presentation file on Blackboard before midnight on Thursday, in addition to presenting in class on Friday.
Deliverable 3 (group):
Due at the time specified below for each group.

First draft of Detailed Design Specification (DDS) document: Due at 10:00am on Friday 02/08/2013.
Submit on Blackboard, one per group. Examples of DDS documents from previous projects can be found at this link. You can also click here for an example of a table of contents from a DDS document.
Project timeline: Due at 10:00am on Friday 02/15/2013.
Submit on Blackboard, one per group. You should include:
- An estimate using COCOMO.
- An estimate using Function Point Analysis.
- A timeline, indicating in detail which project tasks (or subtasks) will be accomplished before our Friday class meetings. This timeline should make it easy, each Friday, to see if the project is ahead of schedule or behind schedule.
IMPORTANT: For the COCOMO and functional point analysis estimates, show in detail the inputs that you provided and the output that you got. If you are in doubt about the inputs, compute and report both an optimistic and a pessimistic estimate.
Test Plan document: Due at 10:00am on Friday 04/05/2013.
Submit on Blackboard, one per group.
- A discussion of the expected content and format is included in these slides.
- A useful reference for preparing test plans in general (not just for this senior design class) can be found here.
- Examples of test plan documents from previous senior design projects can be found here.
Project presentations and demos: Monday May 06, 8:00am-12:30pm, at ERB 103.
Each group must submit their presentation on Blackboard, in addition to presenting and demoing their project at ERB 103.
